The BIG Two - Zero......20 months that is!

Holy Cow! Where oh where has the time gone? Today is an extra special day because Charley is officially 20 months old. You see, last year Charley never turned exactly 8 months old because there was no February 29th. So, we feel this year is "extra special". It is hard to believe that in just four months she will be two years old. Ryan and I were talking at dinner tonight about how fast she is growing up. When people tell you they grow up fast, they truly mean it. I am so thankful for every day that I have been able to spend with her and that Ryan has been able to provide a way for that to be possible. On my blog, there is a song by Trace Adkins titled Your Gonna Miss This. If you have children, I would suggest listening to it. It really puts things into perspective.

Although I am sometimes sad when I think about how fast time is passing us by, I do look forward to the future and watching Charley continue to grow. I know she will have a lot to offer.

Happy 2-0 Charley! Mommy & Daddy love you!

Feeling Yucky & Exhausted

Unfortunatly we have a bit of sickness going on in the Wasson house. Ryan and I took Charley to the doctor yesterday only to be told that she is battling an ear infection with a touch of fever and an insanly runny nose. She was actually feeling so badly yesterday that she decided she could not even make it to her crib for her afternoon nap. After much preparation, she and her friends TT, BoBo, and Bear finally went to sleep between the bookcase and the filing cabinet in our office. How sweet! Today I have felt crummy with a scratchy throat and achy body. Hopefully Charley and I will be back to our normal selves within a few days!

The Best Day of Charley's Life!

This past Wednesday, Ryan, Charley, and I traveled to Kansas City. I should mention that we weren't supposed to leave for Kansas City until Thursday, but due to the "8 - 10 inches" of snow Springfield and the surrounding area was to receive, we decided to leave a day early. Well, as always, that much snow never arrived, and there weren't even flurries in KC. Oh Well. Despite dishing out an extra $100 for a hotel and Ryan's failed attempts to win it back at the poker table, we were glad we left early. Our main purpose for the trip was to take Charley to Sesame Street Live at the Sprint Center. I had been looking forward to this trip since the beginning of December. Ryan had warned me not to be disappointed if Charley wasn't as excited as I hoped she would be. Well......let's just say that Charley was MORE than excited. There are no words to express the emotion that she was feeling when she laid eyes on Elmo. For those of you who know Charley, you know that she LOVES, and I mean LOVES Elmo. I had a feeling that she would enjoy the show, but I had no idea that she would enjoy it as much as she did. As I watched her excitement as Elmo came out on stage, I was taken aback by the pure joy such a tiny girl could experience. Again, there are no words to express what Ryan and I felt as we watched Charley pour out her emotions. Being around Charley is such a joy. Ryan and I know we are blessed beyond words. Charley is so full of life and reminds us each day of what it is like to see things through the eyes of a child. I have posted the video that Ryan took while we were at Sesame Street. Charley can't believe that she is in the presence of her "best friends". The video is a little long, 7 minutes to be exact, but the best parts are at the beginning. I have also posted some pics from that night and a few from the rest of the trip. I hope you enjoy them!
